NDRC approves Feasibility Study of the Newly-built Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway

Recently, the feasibility study of the newly-built Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, which conducted by CEC, had been approved by National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC).

The total length of the newly-built Beijing-Zhangjiakou railway is 174km, with 10 stations along the line. The design capacity of transportation is 60 million passengers per year. It is a high speed railway with the traveling speed 350km/h between Changping and Xiahuayuan North and 250km/h for the remaining section. The total investment is RMB 58.41 billion Yuan. The construction duration will be 4 and half year. It is planning to start construction this year.

The newly-built Beijing-Zhangjiakou railway is the first high speed railway with design speed of 350km/h adopts ballasted track in China, it is the first high speed railway project overall designed by CEC with the criteria of 350km/h. It will significantly improve the railway corridor between Northwest China and North China, optimize the overall arrangement of network, and speed up the establishment of regional rail transportation system of capital economy circle, and promotes synergistic development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei province, acceleration of development of local economy and tourism along the line, and support the 2022 Winter Olympics getting success.
